The condenser in your air conditioner works hard to get rid of heat and pressurize refrigerant for the return trip through your house. Note it must be a well ventilated attic in this case or you will have a buildup of heat which will lead to premature thermal breakthrough of your insulation. The first option is to vent the portable air conditioner through an exterior wall. Simply attach any hose connector adapters and insert the hose. If the room you re attempting to cool has an exterior wall that leads directly outdoors you can cut a hole in that wall just large enough to provide adequate venting for all the hot air you re sucking out of the interior space. This will not only prevent the room from cooling but will actually make it hotter.
Fit the window kit to the length of your window and secure the kit in place. Put it in an attic full of blown insulation and you re forcing. Exhausting it into a closet would be bad and wouldn t give you any net cooling in fact you d heat the system up from electricity consumption.
